Insurance Information

We officials are required to have liability insurance. Three options for insurance are the Dragonfly/NFHS Officials Association , National Association of Sports Officials (NASO), and the new CIF Officials Association. All are excellent options with great benefits, including insurance coverage.

  • NFHS Officials Association/Dragonfly membership is $35.00. To sign up for or to get more information on the NFHS Officials Association, go to https://max.dragonflyathletics.com/

  • NASO is the world’s largest organization for sports officials at every level and all sports. NASO membership usually costs $139, but may be available for less if you enter the promotion code M93ABTN on the signup page. I don’t know if the discount code still works, but it’s worth a shot! If that code doesn’t work for you, code M2NASON should work and save you $10. NASO includes the monthly Referee magazine. To sign up for NASO, go to https://www.naso.org/joinrenew/#join.

  • CIF Officials Association a new statewide registration and eligibility process for all high school sports officials. Starting July 21, 2025, officials can register through ArbiterSports to begin the process of becoming CIF-eligible. This system will streamline background checks, standardize qualifications, and simplify access to cost-effective insurance coverage through a centralized structure. While CIF eligibility will become mandatory beginning June 1, 2026, the 2025–26 school year will serve as a voluntary transition period. To learn more, please click here.

The insurance coverage from NFHS, NASO, and CIF covers practically all sports at practically all levels.

IMPORTANT: Once you have secured your insurance, you must take the “Insurance Confirmation” test on the Central Hub in Arbiter.
